{"id":185868,"date":"2026-05-28T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/armstrongcreektimes\/?p=185868"},"modified":"2026-05-28T04:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T18:00:00","slug":"new-exhibition-brings-four-distinct-sculptural-voices-together","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/armstrongcreektimes\/news\/new-exhibition-brings-four-distinct-sculptural-voices-together\/","title":{"rendered":"New exhibition brings four distinct sculptural voices together"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOUR artists working across metal, wood, glass and mixed media will come together in a new<\/p>\n<p>exhibition at Torquay&#8217;s Hoop Gallery exploring the possibilities of sculptural form.<\/p>\n<p>Finding Form opens on 28 May and runs until 21 June at the gallery within the Torquay Multi Arts Centre on Beach Road.<\/p>\n<p>The group exhibition brings together works by Anglesea artist Cinnamon Stephens, Surf Coast sculptor James Irwin, multidisciplinary artist Kerrie Reyntjes and timber sculptor Tony Gilson.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring suspended installations, floor-based sculptures, wall works and smaller objects, the exhibition examines themes of texture, movement and balance through a range of materials and creative approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Stephens is known for her organic and whimsical sculptures in steel, metal and glass, with works commissioned for domestic, commercial and civic settings.<\/p>\n<p>Irwin&#8217;s sculptures combine mild steel and natural stone to explore balance, rhythm and spatial relationships in both indoor and outdoor settings.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/05\/7.Evolution3Best_NEV_17596.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gilson works primarily with reclaimed timber and natural materials, drawing on the existing grain, textures and shapes within the wood to guide the finished form.
