THE Torquay Tigers Cricket Club has appointed respected clubman Daniel Emmerson as its A-grade coach for the 2026\u201327 season.<\/p>\n
A Barry Sexton Best clubperson winner, multiple centurion and hat-trick taker, Emmerson steps into the role after years of service on and off the field.<\/p>\n
The secondary school teacher has coached across multiple age groups in both cricket and football at the Tigers and said he was eager to help drive the club forward.<\/p>\n
“I’m incredibly passionate about this club and proud to be part of its future,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s super exciting to be leading a proud group of guys, who I know will put in to making this club a force going forward.<\/p>\n
“I can’t wait to work with our players, coaches and members to build a strong club and enjoy success together.”<\/p>\n
Joining Emmerson’s coaching panel will be well-known club figures David Prowse and Tim Stephens.<\/p>\n
Prowse moves into the senior program after several seasons helping develop the club’s next generation through its Cricket Blast and junior programs.<\/p>\n
Stephens brings a wealth of experience, having won eight premierships across a 25-year senior career.<\/p>\n
In his first season with the Tigers last summer, he claimed the Boak Family Trophy as the club’s champion First XI player.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
