AS Metricon continues refining its home designs to meet changing buyer needs, Australia’s largest volume home builder has been recognised at the 2026 Master Builders Victoria (MBV) Western Regional Building Awards.<\/p>\n

Its Atessa 28 display home in Lucas, Ballarat, took out the Best Display Home award in its category.<\/p>\n

Featuring a contemporary Nordic facade and thoughtfully planned living spaces, the award-winning single-storey home showcases a design-led approach to family living.<\/p>\n

Part of Metricon’s Freedom range, the four-bedroom home balances striking character with practical living, offering a flexible and affordable design that can adapt to changing family needs.<\/p>\n

Metricon’s Regional West region manager Dion Planken said the team was proud to see the Atessa 28 recognised by Master Builders Victoria.<\/p>\n

“This design has been a favourite with buyers across Ballarat and its surrounding areas, who consistently tell us they love its functionality, strong street appeal and value for money,” Planken said.<\/p>\n

“To see it recognised among the region’s leading display homes is a fantastic achievement for our team and a reflection of the quality and care that goes into every Metricon home.”<\/p>\n

One of the home’s standout features is its raked ceiling and gabled roofline in the rear living area, designed to maximise space and natural light.<\/p>\n

A covered outdoor room also extends the home’s living space, with the same ceiling treatment continuing from the open-plan living area to create a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors.<\/p>\n

The Ballarat team said the Atessa 28 has attracted interest from buyers at a range of life stages, proving popular with first-home buyers and families, while also appealing to downsizers looking for a home that still feels spacious but is easier to maintain than a larger acreage property.<\/p>\n

Planken said there was a lot to love about its design.<\/p>\n

“The feedback we get is that people really appreciate the flexible floor plan and the way the multiple living areas can work for different stages of life,” he said.<\/p>\n

He said buyers were also drawn to the home’s spacious feel, created by features including the high roof pitch and exposed beams in the main living area.<\/p>\n

The Atessa 28 is on display at the Lucas Estate Display Village in Westcott Drive, Lucas.<\/p>\n
