CITY OF BALLARAT

Wendouree Ward

Joshua Morris

Occupation:

Resides:

Ballarat.

How long have you lived in your council?:

I am a lifelong Ballarat resident.

Community involvement:

I have previously served as a councillor and Mayor of Ballarat and have also represented Western Victoria in the Upper House of Victoria’s State Parliament.

Associated with a political party or movement?:

I am a member of the Liberal Party.

Preferencing:

I haven’t had any conversations with any other candidates in the Wendouree Ward about preferences.

Campaign budget? Receiving financial support?:

I am self-funding my campaign with the assistance of family and friends.

Three most important issues in your ward?:

My main priorities focus on council’s three fundamental responsibilities: the 3 Rs—Roads, Rates, and Rubbish.

Firstly, Roads: Our roads are riddled with potholes and need urgent repair. I will fight for more funding to fix the potholes and maintain safe, high-quality roads.

Secondly, Rates: Everyone is feeling the impact of cost-of-living pressures. I will fight to prevent any rate increases, ensuring fair and affordable rates.

Thirdly, Rubbish: Council’s plan to reduce rubbish collections from weekly to fortnightly must be stopped. I will fight to keep weekly rubbish collections and ensure this vital community service is not decreased to fortnightly collections.
