NINA Fitzsimons’ newest exhibition, Printed Possibilities, is showing at Ross Creek Gallery until this Sunday 10 August.
As the name suggests, its focus is Fitzsimons’ forte, printed works.
“In Printed Possibilities, I explore the versatility of reduction linoprint as a medium, embracing both its precision and its unpredictability,” the Ballarat printmaker said.
“This exhibition marks a continuation of my journey as a printmaker, expanding on the experimentation that began with my first solo show in 2024.
“Here, I lean further into the diversity of linoprint, trying new styles and exploring an array of subjects.”
The exhibition features a wide range of different subject matter, traversing historic Ballarat buildings, expressive landscapes, critters and still-life compositions.
“Though varied, these works are connected by my love of colour, textiles, and the joy of discovering as a new artist what is possible through print,” Fitzsimons said.
“At its core, Printed Possibilities is about openness, the willingness to experiment, to make mistakes, to celebrate imperfections, and to find meaning in the process.
“It is an invitation to explore the beauty of linoprint, not as a rigid technique, but as an evolving dialogue between artist, material, and the composition.”
The gallery is open from 11am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday, and by appointment at 183 Post Office Road.
