BALLARAT Libraries is offering a series of free crafty and artistic activities encouraging people of all ages to get creative while beating the winter chill.
Coming up at the Eureka Centre from 4pm to 4.45pm on Wednesday 30 July, the Sketch and Acrylic Session is aimed at young people aged 12 to 18.
A statement from Ballarat Libraries has said it’s a chance to join an inspiring art program where budding young artists can explore sketching and acrylic painting in a fun and supportive environment.
“Students will be guided by our youth facilitators and will learn techniques in drawing, shading, brushwork and more,” the spokesperson said.
Wednesday’s Sketch and Acrylic session at the Eureka Centre is part of a series of six free creative activities taking place every Wednesday through to 3 September.
There’s also a similar session, called YArtistry, set for 4pm to 5.30pm at Ballarat Library on Tuesday afternoon, 29 July.
The YArtistry event is also free to book into with people aged 12 to 18 invited to get along and let their creativity flow in this art session for all skill levels.
The YArtistry session will encourage participants to “paint, draw, make and create in a variety of mediums including digital and multi-media.”
The Ballarat Libraries group is also offering a range of free crafty activity sessions for people of all ages, including the Craft and Cinema Saturday series.
As part of this series, Sebastopol Library will be screening My Brilliant Career on Saturday 2 August from 10am to 11.45am, with attendees encouraged to bring along a creative project to work on.
“Whether you’re knitting, drawing or working on any other craft, this is the perfect opportunity to relax, get inspired, and connect with fellow crafters,” the spokesperson said.”
