A NEW micro contemporary arts festival will be taking over Ballarat’s CBD next month.
HIDDEN festival will showcase the work of eight local artists who have created pieces responding to hidden heritage locations.
Participants will be guided around a hidden trail to discover the stories behind each projection across eight sites in the CBD.
“Discovering hidden artworks in corners and spaces of our renowned heritage buildings is a new way to experience Ballarat,” City of Ballarat mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said.
“Soak up Ballarat’s creative scene over the whole weekend, starting with HIDDEN on Friday night and Craft Hub over the weekend.
“Ballarat will be the regional epicentre of culture and craft this May.”
The works have been created by Annelise Belladonna, Spencer Harrison, Erin M. McCuskey, Christine McFetridge, Diana Paez, Stefanie Petrik, Kirrily Urquhart and Daniel Williams.
The group has been mentored through masterclasses by Yandell Walton of the Centre for Projection Art.
HIDDEN will be on Friday 16 May and is a walkable tour that will take around 90 minutes to complete.
Sessions will run from 6pm. To book a ticket, visit the Creative City website.
