GENERALLY regarded as one of the funniest comedians in Australia, if not the world, Jimeoin brings his new Who’s Your Man!? show to Civic Hall next month.

Does the reason why dogs get so excited around 6pm puzzles you? Would you like to know why the human foot has a little toe, or to learn some strategies to save the moment when you forget another person’s name?

The stand-up said these and other basically obscure questions will be on the bill when he goes on stage on Saturday 8 June from 7.30pm.

And he promises that his audience will be none the wiser by the time he takes his final bow.

Described as having more facial expressions than a baby eating a lemon, Jimeoin has been a mainstay of Australian comedy since he burst on to the scene in the early 1990s.

Born in England and growing up in Northern Ireland, Jimeoin moved to Australia at the age of 22 and found work as a gardener before his comedy career took off.

Since then, he has basically never stopped.

He has performed on stage, in films and on television, and his work regularly focuses on the absurdities of everyday life.

Jimeoin’s long list of credits includes the movies The Craic and The Extra, while on television he had his own program, called simply Jimeoin.

A six-part series filmed for BBC N.Ireland during a tour of northern Australia was titled Jimeoin Down Under, and had to be repeated due to its popularity.

He is a regular at comedy festivals both in Australia and overseas, and now hosts his own podcast called In Bits – Jimeoin meets… in which he asks fellow comedians to share embarrassing and funny life stories.
