Kwiz to rock and roll into town
FOUR-TIME Logie award-winning television music quiz, RocKwiz, is coming to Ballarat for a live staging, with presenters Julia Zemiro, Brian Nankervis, roadie/human scoreboard Dugal McAndrew and the legendary RocKwiz OrKestra.
One hundred and eighty episodes of the much-loved show were filmed in The Esplanade Hotel’s Gershwin Room in St Kilda and broadcast on SBS between 2005 and 2016.
The live version has been presented all across Australia since 2010.
Guests over the years have included a roll call of Aussie music icons such as Normie Rowe, Kate Ceberano, Jimmy Barnes, James Reyne, Chrissy Amphlett and Renee Geyer.
Zemiro said getting back on the road and touring around the country is what RocKwiz does best. “If life is all getting a bit much, and you need to have a laugh and hear some fabulous music, come join us. We guarantee we’ll make you feel better,” she said.
Nankervis said he’s excited to be doing the big run of shows.
“On The Road Again, Roadhouse Blues, Hit The Road Jack, Freeway Of Love… you know the tour bus will be rocking,” he said.
“There’s something very special about being on the road, playing beautiful theatres with a travelling company of artists, inviting audience members to be part of the action. It’s a thrill to travel around Australia with this show we love. See you in the foyer!”
