Opera fun returns to Buninyong

SAVOY Opera Company will be returning to Buninyong next month with a performance of HMS Pinafore and Trial by Jury at the Town Hall.

The performance will begin with one act comic opera Trial by Jury, which is about a breach of marriage lawsuit.

After interval, HMS Pinafore will begin, which director Stee Cordelia said will provide entertainment for the whole family.

“HMS Pinafore is one of the more popular ones and is a shorter one… and it’s really the story of the class system,” she said.

“It’s a fun, bright show and there’s lots of humour in it.

“It’s suitable for children and it’s often the first one children attend… it’s very popular.”

Codelia said audiences will enjoy the colour and singing of the performance as well as the diversity of the cast.

“We go from the youngest who is 16 and out oldest gentlemen is nearly 80,” she said.

“We go the full range of ages with a range of experience.

“These experienced performers mentor the younger performers which is terrific.”

The cast will be available after the performance for photographs and there will also be a raffle.
