THE first Piano for Pleasure concert of the year will include special guest and former student of Bronislaw Sozanski, Lewis Clark.

Clark is in his third year of study at the Sir Zelman Cowan School of Music at Monash University under the tutelage of Darryl Coote, and recently travelled to their campus in Prato, Italy.

He will perform works by Schubert and Ravel.

“What I have enjoyed about playing the piano is the musical expression I’ve been able to do playing it,” Clark said.

“It’s a very solo instrument so inherently I’ve been playing a lot by myself, practicing by myself which I find quite rewarding.”

Other performers will include students Hannah Cao, Lilia Chen and Travis Wang.

The students have attended performance classes to ensure their presentation is professional.

“It’s a huge advantage being one of Bron’s students,” Clark said.

“It’s being able to perform in front of an audience that’s of a smaller size, but it gives you that opportunity to get out there and perform in front of people.

“That’s one of the great things that these Piano for Pleasure concerts teach you.”

The concert will take place on Sunday 23 March from 2pm at the Anglican Cathedral Synod Hall.
