Recital to conclude concert series
THE final performance of this year’s Piano for Pleasure concert series will be held at Christ the King Anglican Cathedral Synod Hall this Sunday.
cert will begin at 2pm and pianists Hannah Cao, Emily Tao, Limor Chen, Shayla Tang, and Jayden Chen will perform.
The children are students of Bronislaw Sozanski who learn performance and stagecraft as part of their studies.
“Young performers get lots of opportunities to develop their skills because we can put on a concert with our students in a public venue easily in Ballarat,” said Sozanski.
“It’s not so easy to do in the big cities because you’ve got to hire a major hall.”
Piano for Pleasure concerts have been taking place in Ballarat for 24 years with music styles ranging from Baroque to contemporary music.
For the first time the concert will include piano and violin duo Hannah and Emily and Sozanski said it is great to see students playing together.
“They’ve done some work together at Ballarat Grammar and they are going to play a couple of pieces together,” he said.
“I really like when students play together in ensembles without adults… so that’s a bit of a bonus to what we’ve had before.”
Afternoon tea will follow the concert, and donations are requested which support the Cathedral music.
