End-of-year gathering Melbourne

Bobby’s Bar is suited for a more informal gathering.

WHETHER you are team of two or fifty, Hotel Canberra offers choice for your end of year gathering.

“We tailor menus to our customer’s needs,” said General Manager Pete Dillon.

“Chef Jigs and his team can work with most budgets to ensure guests have a personalised event.”

Hotel Canberra offers choices, from a casual café style in the heritage listed stables to the higher end Vesta x Jigs degustation restaurant.

Bobby’s Bar is suited for a more informal gathering and Stables Café and Bar hosted many a casual evening get together.

“From canapes to an eight-course degustation, our offer celebrates the very best of Victoria,” said award winning chef Jigs Liwanag.

“We work closely with producers, growers, makers and culinary adventurers from across the state to source ingredients and produce.”

Since taking over the hotel in 2022, Jigs along with brothers Pete and Paul Dillon have been laser focused on creating the very best guest experience.

“What excites us still is people walking through the door who have been driving past for years, who are pleasantly surprised by our offer when they visit,” said Paul Dillon.

Bobby’s Bar is open Wednesday to Saturday from 4pm and outside those hours by request. The adjacent garden is used as a pre function space for guests to enjoy canapes and drinks.

Bobby’s serves craft, artisan and boutique beers and spirits from across Victoria, while the wine list is filled with alternative varietals and small batch wines from all corners of the state.

“Being 100 per cent Victorian offers us a great point of difference, but also a challenge to ensure we have variety and options for all of our patrons,” said Pete.

Do something special in the Vesta x Jigs degustation restaurant.

Vesta x Jigs opens Thursday to Saturday offering a choice of six or eight-course degustation dining. Groups can book the restaurant in its entirety (subject to numbers) and it can also be booked for lunches and gatherings outside those hours. Menus are individually designed and range from canapes to a full degustation experience.

The produce is 100 per cent Victorian and this presents a unique experience for guests to enjoy.

“We have found saffron, black garlic and spices grown nearby. These products are comparable to what I have seen on my work across the globe,” Jigs said.

“It makes the menu design process really exciting for our team.”

The Stables Café and Bar is well suited to a more casual evening event. The café opens from 8am-4pm Tuesday through Sunday, so evening events in either the heritage listed stables or inside the café space itself are welcomed. These tend to be better suited to informal gatherings.

Hotel Canberra can be found on the corner of Macarthur Street and Creswick Road.
