THE Ballarat Hospice Care community is marking the in-home, specialist palliative care organisation’s fortieth anniversary in 2025.

At two special birthday functions, CEO Andrew Howard said current and former staff, volunteers, board members and supporters will celebrate four decades of the not-for-profit providing dedicated care, connection, dignity, compassion, and respect to thousands of individuals and their families experiencing end of life care.

“These events are a way to honour the people who have walked alongside us for four decades,” said Mr Howard.

“From families and carers, to staff and volunteers, everyone has played a part in creating a service that is trusted, compassionate and community-driven.”

A 40th anniversary gala cocktail party will be held on Thursday 7 August from 7pm to 10.30pm at The Goods Shed featuring storytelling, music and reflection to celebrate those who have shaped Ballarat Hospice Care’s legacy. Guest speaker will be David Brumby.

An informal morning tea will follow on Wednesday 3 September from 10am to 12pm at Ballarat Hospice Care’s hub at 1836 Sturt Street, Alfredton.

Former staff, volunteers, board members, and the wider community are invited to reconnect and share memories.

A Celebrating 40 Years digital storytelling campaign with personal reflections on the role of palliative care from families, staff, and volunteers is running throughout 2025.
