IN light of current challenges, Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society and Commerce Ballarat are planning a special free event for farmers.

The evening will include kids’ activities, beers, a barbecue, live music, door prizes, guest speakers and a magic show.

It is set to be a night to relax and interact with family and friends.

“Farmers are facing many challenges,” said Commerce Ballarat CEO Jodie Gillett.

“The State Government levy was the straw that broke the camel’s back and although there is now a twelve-month reprieve, we would like to see it become permanent.

“With drought, increased costs and taxes, our farmers are doing it tough and we would like them to have a fun night where they can relax, have some fun and interact with others facing similar challenges.”

Farmer’s Night Off will be held at the new Ballarat Showgrounds, Southern Pavillion, 6 Rose Hill Road, Mount Rowan on Monday 16 June from 5.30pm to 9.39pm.

Anyone interested is asked to RSVP for catering purposes to Kerri Gallagher at BAPS on [email protected] or Jodie Gillett at Commerce Ballarat on 0447 301 966.
