IF you’re looking to put your knowledge to the test while also supporting a good cause, then Twin Hearts will have you covered.

The non-profit foundation will host their annual trivia day at the Queen’s Head Hotel this Saturday, with proceeds going in part towards the local Cops N Kids Camp initiative.

The event will mark the organisation’s first in-person event since their previous trivia day last year, and Twin Hearts president Kelly-Louise Austin said it signals their return to normal operations.

“It’s going to take a lot to shut us down again now that we’re out the other side of lockdowns. We’re starting off small with this just to find our feet,” she said.

“Our trivia day is a great way to start. It’s loads of fun, and a really chill afternoon, and Cops n’ Kids has a special place in our Twin Hearts heart.

The $20 entry fee will include an afternoon tea provided by Queens Head kitchen, followed by an evening of trivia, games, raffles.

Attendance is capped at 60, and a prize will be revealed for the winning trivia team.

Last year’s event raised over $1000 for Cops n’ Kids, and Ms Austin said she is hoping to double this year’s amount.

“They’re such a small organisation that relies 100 per cent on donations,” she said.

“They did it really tough during COVID. Not only were they not able to fundraise, but they also were really restricted with being able to hold their camps for children and families affected by cancer.”

Funds raised from Twin Heart’s events are split between local and Tanzanian charities, and proceeds from the trivia day will help the Al Ansari Foundation to build a well on Zanzibar Island.

Other upcoming events include an upcoming event with cancer charity Love Your Sister in June, as well as the return of the foundations’ annual gala ball.

Twin Heart’s Trivia Day for Cops n Kids will take place on Saturday 2, April from 2pm to 5pm at the Queens Head Hotel, 146 Humffray Street North, Ballarat East.

Tickets are $20 at a limit of six people per table and bookings can be made at https://bit.ly/3tDZcWv.
