TOM Clarke said anyone can play bowls.

As Webbcona Bowls Club’s Tournament Director, he’s encouraging families, and individuals of all ages and abilities to try the accessible sport during the Jack Attack program.

A relaxed social competition for players of any experience, it starts at 6pm tonight, 31 October and will run for five Thursdays, seeing triples teams play a match for no more than an hour.

Mr Clarke began bowling 42 years ago as a young man. He said people will enjoy the company and Webbcona’s hospitality.

“You can get to know other people and we put on a sausage barbecue for them so they can have a bit of a feed. It’s a cheap night to play,” he said.

“The culture here’s very good, we’ve got beautiful greens and good membership. We cater for everybody.”

Jack Attackers will be able to access quality coaching. The Ballarat Bowls Association runs a junior program from Webbcona and the club also runs a mid-week ladies comp.
