OSCAR’S Hotel and Cafe have won the Best Hotel award for Pub Style Accommodation for the second year in a row at Australian Hotels Associations’ Victorian State Awards for Excellence.

The win was announced on Monday at a gala dinner in Melbourne and this is the third time the family-owned businesses has won an AHA award, taking out the Overall Hotel of the Year (Regional) in 2018.

Manager Cassie Quinlan said receiving the award for the second time shows the hard work and commitment of staff.

“We are just so grateful to even be selected and for our staff it’s some massive recognition,” she said. “Our housekeepers, some of them have been with us for a long time, so day in day out they’ve put in the hard work. They’re all amazing and everyone is very excited.”

Oscar’s Hotel and Cafe has been operating for 21 years and Ms Quinlan thanked the public for their support, particularly in challenging economic times.

“We’re grateful for the Ballarat community really and for everyone who does come and visit,” she said.

“The Ballarat community and all of our regulars make a massive difference along with all of our staff.

“We are grateful with the current climate and everything at the moment to give the staff a bit of positive recognition.”

The national award ceremony will be held in November.
