BALLARAT Gold Mine has donated $1000 to crisis support agency, Uniting which will benefit emergency relief and Breezeway meals programs, and housing and homelessness services.

Uniting’s Jennifer Wright took Ballarat Gold Mine team members, Aaron Preston and Oliver Hickson on a tour through their Ballarat headquarters on Tuesday, meeting Breezeways program chef, Cat Walters.

Breezeway has been operational with the support of volunteers and community donations for more than two decades, offering nutritious meals daily to those in need.

Food security for the homeless and marginalised is its focus, yet it gets no government funding. Uniting relies on the community and philanthropic grants to keep Breezeway serving its clients.

Ms Wright said Breezeway always needs volunteers, who would usually give four hours of their time per shift.
