Ballarat Health to send COVID testing team to Daylesford
BALLARAT Health Services has announced a rapid COVID-19 testing team is being deployed to Daylesford following identification of exposure sites and a positive case in the town.
“A pop-up drive-through testing site will be set up in Daylesford at Victoria Park this afternoon (Saturday 11th September),” a statement released by the health care provider said.
“Located at Ballan-Daylesford Road Daylesford, no appointment is required.”
The BHS COVID-19 website said testing site would be open between 3pm and 7pm, today Saturday, 11 September and 9am to 7pm on Sunday, 12 September.
COVID-19 tests by appointment can be made at locations like Daylesford Health at 17 Hospital Street by calling 5321 6654, Kyneton Health at 7-25 Caroline Chisholm Drive by calling 5422 9900 and UFS Respiratory clinic at 15 Errard Street North by calling 4311 1571.
The move to set up the drive-thru testing site at Daylesford comes after three exposure sites were declared in the town on Friday night by the Department of Health and Human Services.
“If you live in – or have visited – the Daylesford region in the past 4 days (since 7 September), please check the list of COVID-19 exposure sites immediately and follow the instructions on the website,” said the BHS statement.
Springs Medical on 10 Hospital Street was declared a tier one site between 3.15pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday, 8 September.
Cliffys Emporium Daylesford at 30 Raglan Street is also a tier one site between 3.20pm and 8.45pm on Tuesday, 7 September.
Under a tier one declaration people the DHHS says, “Anyone who has visited this location during these times must get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days from the exposure.”
Panchos Café at 117 Vincent Street is listed as a tier two site between 10.20am and 11am on Wednesday, 8 September.
According to DHHS advice, “Anyone who has visited this location during these times should urgently get tested, then isolate until confirmation of a negative result. Continue to monitor for symptoms, get tested again if symptoms appear.”
