Ballarat Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival returns for 3rd year
THE Ballarat community is getting ready embrace old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll with the return of the annual festival for the third time.
The event will take place on April 6 and April 7 at Ballarat High School with live bands, food vendors, stalls and dance demonstrations.
“Like all the other years, the festival is celebrating the ’50s and ’60s era with the bands and rock ‘n’ roll music,” said event organiser Kirsty Robinson.
“It’s just really showcasing what that era was about.”
The Lana Rose Fashion best dressed competition will be on with guests Roland Rocchiccioli and City of Ballarat councillor Samantha McIntosh.
A range of classic and hot rod cars will also be on display on Sunday.
Ms Robinson encouraged the community to come along, even if they have never been involved with the rock ‘n’ roll community before.
“The rock ‘n’ roll community is very accepting,” she said.
“We generally don’t take ourselves too seriously and are there to have a good time so it’s a fun, energetic community to be involved in.”
Entry to the event is $10 per day, with payment made at the entrance on the day.
On the Saturday night there will be a ticketed event, priced at $30 per person, with two top rock ‘n’ roll bands set to take the stage.
Tickets will be available via TryBooking on the day.
