Beck and Cormick weave musical magic

THIS Tuesday it’s just You & I on stage, as musical theatre greats, Rachael Beck and Michael Cormick perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

Friends for 25 years, meeting during Beauty and the Beast rehearsals, the performers will share a night of storytelling, song, dancing, acting, fun and laughter, and emotion, while taking you to the unique worlds of some famous and magical musicals.

They will cover the antics of backstage, including a few tales about other creatives they’ve worked with; actors, composers, and directors that might be familiar to the audience.

“Michael and I cannot wait to bring you our new show, You & I,” Beck said.

“It’s full of industry gossip, hits from shows such as Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, Grease… to name a few.

“It’s so good to be back on stage. I know you’ll love this show.”

Beck is recognisable for work both on television and the stage, having performed in Barnum, Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Misérables, Cabaret, Singing in the Rain, Cats, Home and Away, City Homicide, Sea Patrol and reality singing show, It Takes Two.

Cormick’s career spans Australia, Europe and the UK, having performed for the Queen.

Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Chess, Woman in White, Sunset Boulevard, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Carols by Candelight are on his resume.
