BIA donates for asylum help
OVER the next five months the Ballarat Italian Association has allocated a portion of its funds to be donated to service the Ballarat Refugee and Asylum Seeker Network.
The BIA have put aside $450 to be provided monthly to the asylum and refugee support organisation to pay for fruits and vegetables for the Network.
Ballarat Italian Association committee member Carla Woodruff said the group is proud to be involved in supporting those most vulnerable within the community.
“As a long-standing association, the BIA is proud to be involved, in conjunction with the Ballarat Regional Multicultural Association, in this grass roots project,” she said.
“This support compliments the continued involvement of the BIA in multicultural and community activities.”
In addition, the BIA have been focusing in on supporting groups in need in the Ballarat region such as BRMC and BRASSN.
The association also welcomes people who may be interested in becoming a member, to get involved.
