NEXT year’s Ballarat International Foto Biennale is a beneficiary of the State’s Regional Events Fund.

A grant of $100,000 will boost marketing, aiming to bringing many visitors to the city for its arts and cultural offerings.

BIFB CEO Vanessa Gerrans said 2023 will mark the 10th anniversary of the foto fest, which features local and international photographic art, and is displayed in diverse venues across town.

“It will be a celebration of photography and visual imaging culture, including exciting world first premieres along with a reflection of contributors who have helped grow the festival into Australia’s most significant regional showcase of photographic works by artists from across the world,” she said.

“Running from August to October in 2023, the 10th anniversary of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale will be an exciting time to visit Ballarat, as the city celebrates the art of photography.

“We acknowledge the support of the Andrews Labor Government through the Regional Events Fund.”

More than 180,000 visitors have come to Ballarat for BIFB since it began, exploring exhibitions and installations in galleries, hospitality venues, businesses, and laneways.
