IF tasting specialty and locally made gins while being a part of a record-breaking event from all around the country is your thing, this is the event for you.

The team at Gintonia are leading the charge and hosting the Ginormous Gin Tasting at a variety of venues across the country on the same day and at the same time.

Ballarat residents can join in on the festivities and be a part of a record-breaking afternoon at Lola at The Provincial Hotel on Sunday, 22 November between 3pm and 5.30pm.

Event organiser David Box said while it would be exciting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gin tasting event across multiple venues, it will also be a great way to re-group after a challenging year.

“It’s all about re-connecting gin lovers with Aussie gin distilleries and bars across the country,” he said.

“We hope by staging this event, craft gin lovers will have a good reason to get out and enjoy themselves, but more importantly lend a hand to all those distilleries and bars who have been hit hard.

“The added bonus is we plan to ignite our very own Gin Ashes and knock the current world record holders, the Poms, off their perch.”

In addition to Lola hosting the city’s branch of the event, Ballarat’s own Kiderkin Gin will join with over 50 Australian gin distilleries in the tasting festivities.

Not only will you be awarded a Guinness World Records certificate of participation, but if you secure a ticket to the event for $75, you’ll also have access to a curated tasting of gins and tonics by an expert, a commemorative gin glass and Gintonica discounts.
