THE tasty fruits, or sweets, of two business’ combined labours will be showcased next month as part of a tasting masterclass.

Saltbush Kitchen’s Brigid Corcoran and Lucky and James owner Jade Davidson are set to share their efforts in blending their respective business’ bush food and chocolate.

“I’ve been working with Brigid since just before Christmas creating chocolates for her,” Ms Davidson said.

“It proved to be a really successful venture. Everybody’s found them to be an accessible way to try bush foods.

“I’ll give people who attend a peek behind the chocolate making with a tasting and teaching them about percentages and its origins.

“Then it’ll be a tasting with our products combined before Brigid leads a chat about her role and her passion for native foods and a tasting of her products.”

Taking place at Saltbush Kitchen, the event is capped at about 20 people and each attendee will receive a gift bag of chocolate and bush foods upon its completion.

Ms Davidson said her collabration with Ms Corcoran had been a resounding success.

“There’s been so much support over the past few months.

“I started making chocolates for her leading into Christmas. They flew out the door then and during Easter to the point they’re part of the standard range.

“For every small business around, we need to adapt and pivot more than ever and try new things. As far as I’m aware, no one’s done a chocolate tasting experience in Ballarat before.”

The masterclass will run from 2pm to 4pm on June 16, and again on July 21.
