Book tells tale of festive magic

CROWDS gathered at the Regent Cinema last Friday to celebrate the launch of a Christmas themed children’s book.

Liam Abery wrote the book Letter to Santa with the aim of spreading Christmas joy to children and their families.

“The book is about Christmas and how Santa brings gifts to all the children,” he said. “I wanted to focus on Christmas because I love kids and the joy it brings to everyone.

“When people read the book I hope the feel love, compassion and enjoyment.”

The writing process has taken Abery a number of months, but he said it was well worth the wait.

“A couple of friends of mine have written books so I thought it would be good to write one,” he said. “It was a really time consuming process and I worked on it for five to six months.

“I kept working on it because I wanted to do something to challenge myself.”

Avery urged anyone who is considering writing a book to pursue their passion.

“If anyone is considering writing a book come and talk to me and also don’t be afraid to ask for advice from anyone who has written a book,” he said.
