IN partnership with The Bridge Mall Business Association, the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast have become the new managers of the monthly Bridge Market.

The event is held in the mall on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm, and market manager Vicki Fawcus said it’s an ideal opportunity for the club to connect with the community, and fundraise to boost their projects.

“The Rotary Market Committee organises the stallholders and any entertainment for each event, the Ballarat East Men’s Shed conducts the marshalling, sets up and packs down on the day, and the Bridge Mall Business Association assist with marketing and special attractions to raise money for the local community,” she said.

“Wendouree Breakfast Rotary Club is excited to expand the reach and attraction of the Bridge market and will be advertising for a variety of new of stallholders.

“Funds raised from our work with the Bridge Market will be used to further our support for the local and international projects including assistance for homelessness through Uniting, sponsoring Youth programs like Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Defying the Drift, scholarships for Yuille Park Community College students, scholarships for students in Ambon Indonesia, and many more worthwhile causes.”

The Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast’s relationship with the Business Association has grown in recent years, with club members contributing to winter community yarn-bombing installations and competitions.

“We’ve also been engaged to remove any graffiti around the Mall, having filled in as marshals and also assisted with the running of the Easter and Mother’s Day children’s craft activities,” Ms Fawcus said.
