THIS Friday, 25 June the Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council’s Winter Market will bring warmth to the chilly city.

Hosted at BRMC’s Ballarat Welcome Centre within the old Ballarat East library building from 10am to 2pm, the event is part of Refugee Week celebrations.

BRMC’s Deborah Klein said a shop of the stalls in the cosy heritage setting, based at the Barkly Square community hub, will be an opportunity to chase the winter blues away.

“Celebrate our rich, vibrant and diversely creative community at the BRMC Winter Market,” she said.

“The BRMC Winter Market features quality hand-crafted, locally-produced and locally-sourced homewares, gift items, jewellery, fashion accessories and more by select Ballarat Twilight Market vendors, Stepping Stones To Small Business enterprises, and emerging entrepreneurial designer-makers from across Ballarat’s diverse community.

“Mounted in the warmth of the Ballarat Welcome Centre, the BRMC Winter Market offers something for everyone. Remember, there is no better prize than a surprise. Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, bris, and holiday gift-giving is always just over the horizon.”

Refugee week began last Sunday, 20 June and will conclude this Saturday, 26 June.

The Ballarat Welcome Centre is at 25-39 Barkly Street.
