Bulldogs to celebrate women in business
AFL club, the Western Bulldogs, will be hosting a women in business lunch in Ballarat next week.
The event is set for the Mining Exchange and aims to allow businesswoman to hear from speakers in varying industries as well as network.
This year’s panel will include Gorgi Coghlan as MC, consultant from Egon Zehder Fiona McGauchie, and executive general manager of consumer and commercial at the AFL Kylie Rogers.
“Last year we had our inaugural women in business lunch and we sold out which was really fantastic with the amount of support from individuals and local businesses,” said head of strategy projects with the Western Bulldogs, Fiona Baker.
“This year we’ve got a slightly bigger venue to try and get more people to the lunch.
“This year’s theme is slightly different with the focus on preparing for tomorrow and planning career progression today.
“The panel will be talking about what career progression meant for them.”
The idea for the lunch came from the football club’s effort to create partnerships in the region.
“The Bulldogs have been in Ballarat for over eight years now and we’ve made a real focus particularly over the last two years to strengthen our commitment to the region,” said Ms Baker.
“We created a strategy last year to really try and hone in on some of those areas and our approach to Ballarat is multifaceted, we’re not just there to play AFL and AFLW games.
“What we’d like them to take away is starting to craft what success or the end goal looks like for them personally,” she said.
“We want to help bring people with experience to the Ballarat region to help grow the development of women.”
The event will take place on Friday 17 November from 12pm until 3pm and tickets can be purchased via bit.ly/49gD2MO.
