Burrumbeet readies for boot sale
THERE is a community call out for vendors who would like to take part in a car boot sale at Burrumbeet.
The event will take place on Sunday 24 March from 11am until 2pm at the Burrumbeet Soldiers Memorial Hall.
Sites range in price from $15 to $20 and the day will also include a barbecue and Devonshire tea.
“We’re looking for people to sell whatever they like really,” said committee member Paul Beechey.
The aim of the event is to provide a way for community to come together.
“It just brings people together and it’s more a fellowship,” said Mr Beechey.
“We’re hoping the local community will take advantage of having a stall or coming along and support the stalls.”
The sale is part of a series of initiatives which are being introduced by the committee this year, including a move night which took place in January and a Christmas in July event later this year.
“We’ve just recently had some younger members join the committee and we asked them to suggest what they’d like to see happen to have more community engagement and make use of the hall,” said Mr Beechey.
“We’ve also been running community dinners at the hall every three months for some time which are very well attended.”
