Business Women head to market
THE Ballarat Business Women group will host a luncheon and market day for professional women next Thursday, 23 May to showcase members’ brands and provide a casual chance to network.
It’s an opportunity for small and new businesses to get their name out there, and BBW board member, Dannielle James hopes women will find brands that they didn’t previously know about.
“It’s a good space… A supportive environment. It would be good for people just starting out, but also for more established businesses to present to a new and different group of people,” she said.
Mrs James, a director of Pipe Pro Directional Drilling, said the market is also a space for professional women to discover more about BBW before they decide to join.
ANZ’s Heather Carr has enjoyed being a part of the network for 10 years, recently joining the board.
“I’ve found it a great social and personal development environment with like-minded women,” she said.
The group is expecting 20 businesses to host a stall at the market. It will run between 12pm and 2pm on Thursday, 23 May at the Sporting Globe, corner Lydiard and Mair Streets, Ballarat.

BBW is a not-for-profit networking group supporting women in business in Ballarat. They hold regular drinks and luncheon events for their members and hope to assist women to achieve professionally and personally.
The group is open to all women in big or small business in Ballarat.
