Buying Ballarat made easy
LOCATED in the heart of the Delacombe Town Centre, the Ballarat Made pop up shop has a variety of locally produces and designed products to help shoppers tick off their Christmas lists.
Store front co-coordinator Kenny Kneeshaw, also owner of Acorn and Squirrel wooden jewellery, said the shop is a great way to buy Ballarat goods without having to hunt around.
“People are loving coming here to support twelve local businesses in one shot,” she said.
“It’s all Ballarat based, there’s a bit of Buninyong but it’s all from around the region … everything in store is designed and manufactured in the area.”
After frequently selling their products at various markets, Ms Kneeshaw teamed up with two other local producers
Leah Haynes of Mia and Talbot and Erin Robinson of Artbrush by Erin to bring the Ballarat Made pop up to life.
“There is three of us who run it and we have nine others who are on commission helping out,” Ms Kneeshaw said.
“We did it last year for around 10 days and we had a phenomenal response from the general public, the biggest thing they said was that they wished we could’ve been there for longer.
“Now we decided to do it for a month this year and it’s worked really well because a lot of the markets throughout the year were closed and cancelled.”
Not only is the pop up a great way for shoppers to find and purchase local products, Ms Kneeshaw said it’s been nice to connect with the community again after such a hard year.
“We try to help each other out and collaborate as much as possible … but we all work at home by ourselves so it’s good to get a bit of a community feel,” she said.
“Heading to the local markets is a great way to support local, so we try to offer an alternative here… we’re trying to promote everyone to get the word out so people can find an easy way to support local this Christmas.”
The Ballarat Made Pop-Up Shop at Delacombe Town Centre will be open every day 9am to 6pm up until Christmas Eve.
