FAMILIES won’t have to wait until 7pm for the Ballarat Carols by Candlelight Fun to begin on Sunday 22 December.

Before the evening of festive songs and cheer kicks off, a Kids Carnival from 4pm will entertain children at the City Oval, sponsored by McCafe.

Including a Megajumps monster truck slide, jumping castles, a flying chair ride, mega mini golf, a range of games from Kelly Sports, and face painting, parents and guardians will be able to secure their perfect spot on the Carols lawn before the show begins, while kids keep busy.

Local McCafe supervisor, Jason Rossi said his team is supporting the Carols to ensure that it continues annually.

“We want to make sure it continues to give the kids in the community an opportunity to get out there and around that Christmas spirit,” he said.

“We felt that the McCafe Kids Carnival would help make the Carols a landmark event.”

President of Ballarat Carols by Candlelight, Matt Hustwaite said he was grateful to McCafe for their “brilliant” support which means his team can present rides and entertainment to the public for free.

“We know many people will want to get their spot on the lawn early, so the McCafe Kids Carnival means that families can really make the most of the event,” he said.

“We hope that by not having to pay for the carnival, families will be better placed to support the 3BA Christmas Appeal on the night.”

Performers like The Little Brass Band, Sweet Monas Choir, Ballarat Specialist School, Kryal Castle, and Team Dream will also entertain crowds in the lead-up to the main show.

Ballarat Carols by Candlelight at the City Oval is presented by Harcourts. Hosted by Daryl Somers, it will feature a cast of national and local stars.

McCafes around Ballarat are offering one $1 hot chocolate or free baby chinos with each order until the new year.
