ACCLAIMED musical group the Seraphim Trio are returning to Ballarat this March to play classical masterpieces.

The group is celebrated for their encyclopaedic performances of Mozart, Clara Schumann, and Beethoven.

For over two decades the trio have performed together, presenting classical music as well as collaborating with artists like Paul Kelly.

Concert organiser Bronislaw Sozanski said it’s the varied repertoire and  professional approach that sets them apart from other performers.

“This is world class playing, this group have won major awards and been together a long time,” he said.

“When you have a small group playing, none of them can rest and they can’t get it wrong, so it’s quite thrill seeking for them and certainly exciting for the audience.

“I’m looking forward to some really fine chamber music which is really exciting because its much edgier than symphonic music.”

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Sonzanski said he believes its crucial to keep pushing for world class music events in Ballarat.

He urges locals to show support for the performance, with funds raised going towards musical scholarships for members of the community.

“We’re hearing top quality music played by a very fine trio, you can’t get much better than that,” he said.

The Seraphim Trio will play the Anglican Cathedral Synod Hall Saturday, 4 March at 2.30pm and for tickets visit seraphimtrio.com.
