THE Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast are selling hampers this festive season as part of their Ballarat Gourmet Goodies fundraising project.

The group’s offerings include a fine foods hamper at $100, an indulgence hamper for $85, and two goldfields brewer selection hampers priced at $35 each.

The products in the hampers come from Ballarat and surrounding areas and contain food and speciality beer.

Last year the initiative raised more than $10,000 which was donated to the Ballarat Suicide Prevention Network.

This year’s campaign will see funds donated to BRICC Cancer Wellness Centre.

“The project was a major fundraiser for the club and was a win-win situation as it supports local businesses as well as raising much needed funds for our community,” said Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast president Geoff James.

Springhill Farm is one of the local businesses supplying produce for the hampers and general manager Fiona Whattley said it was good initiative to be involved with.

“We’re really proud to be a part of this project and we love being a part of the Ballarat community and to fundraise for the BRICC,” she said.

Packing of the hampers will begin in early December with free delivery available within 30 kilometres of Ballarat.

Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast fundraising director Garry McKenzie said the hampers have proved popular over recent years.

“The hampers would make an ideal gift for staff, clients, family and friends,” he said.

“Last year a number of local businesses got on board and bought hampers. Due to the success of last year’s project, we have some new suppliers this year.”

Orders are now open and can be made at the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast website.
