Christmas spirit at the market
THE Showgrounds’ weekly market will have a special festive feel this weekend.
Rotary Club of Ballarat South members will host the Ballarat Market’s Christmas Market this Sunday 17 December.
“We’re thrilled to continue our legacy of giving back to the Ballarat community,” said Rotary Club of Ballarat South president Neale Gribble.
“The Christmas Market is not just an event, it’s a celebration of community, generosity, and the joy of coming together during this festive season.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this remarkable journey.”
Rotarians are inviting families and people of all ages to get into the Christmas spirit at the market, whether they still have to tick some items off their shopping lists or just need a fun morning out.
Organisers have heard word from the North Pole that Santa Claus is planning on making a special visit, as is the Grinch, and a range of free children’s activities are planned including plaster painting, a circus play area, a treasure hunt, and face painting.
In line with the season and spirit of giving, Rotarians are set to lead a free raffle, which has been backed by local businesses who have provided prizes, and marketgoers could win some extra gifts to put under the tree on the 25th.
“Let’s come together to create lasting memories and celebrate the season of giving,” Mr Gribble said.
Ballarat Market’s Christmas Market will run from 8am to 12.30pm at the Ballarat Showgrounds.
