AN organisational restructure of the City of Ballarat is being floated, with a new structure to be announced on 6 December.

The changes would affect the City’s corporate service, infrastructure and environment, community wellbeing and development and growth areas.

CEO Evan King said the restructure would set up the City to better deliver on goals written into the Council Plan.

“This proposed realignment will align our organisational structure to the strategic objectives outlined in our new Council Plan 2021-2025 while also better positioning our organisation with industry and stakeholder requirements,” he said.

“The primary purpose of this proposed organisational realignment is to create an organisation that is better equipped to deliver on our council’s commitments and the community’s expectations.

“There is no intent to reduce staff numbers.

“I am confident that this proposed structural realignment will deliver greater long-term benefits for all staff and equip us to be better prepared to respond to our community’s needs.”

Mr King said City staff could make comments and suggestions on the changes until the December date, and unions would also be consulted.
