City’s TAFE up for award

NOMINATIONS for the Victorian Training Awards have been announced with Federation TAFE being named as one of the thirty-five finalists.

Now in their 66th year, the awards honour outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in the Victorian TAFE and training sector.

Finalists have been named across 13 award categories, which include awards for individuals, employers, training providers and industry collaboration of which Federation TAFE is up for.

Now on its fourth year of operation in Ballarat, Federation TAFE has been nominated to recognise its innovative Pathways to Technology (P-TECH) program which is a collaborative industry program between Federation TAFE and IBM.

Federation TAFE acting executive director Darren Gray said the school was delighted to be shortlisted for the Industry Collaboration Award.

“It is acknowledgment of the important role that TAFE plays in providing pathways to the jobs of the future and recognition of the outstanding work of our teachers, students and industry partner, IBM,” he said.
