College to stage creepy, kooky musical
A MYSTERIOUS, spooky, and all together ooky production is set to be performed by Damascus College students this month.
The school is staging The Addams Family musical over five shows, from Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 July, in the Valda Ward Auditorium.
Performing arts coordinator and production director Andrew Seeary said the show will entertain people of all ages, and those that remember the original Addams Family television show will be taken back in time.
“It’s quirky, inventive and funny, and leans into the notion of family and all of its shapes and sizes, trials and tribulations, joys and triumphs,” he said.
“The Addams Family is not only fun and upbeat, but at its core is very sweet and sentimental.
“It’s a story about growing up, letting go, following dreams, hurting, and healing. What could be a better show for this moment?”
A big cast and crew of students from years 7 to 12 are bringing the musical to life, in acting, singing, dancing, and behind-the-scenes roles.
All the iconic Addams Family members are part of the show, including parents Morticia and Gomez, daughter and son Wednesday and Pugsley, Uncle Fester, and Lurch.
The story begins when Wednesday brings her new, and very normal, boyfriend home to meet her family, and is full of humour, catchy music, and plenty of quirky characters.
The Addams Family will be performed on Wednesday 19, Thursday 20, and Friday 21 July at 7pm, and Saturday 22 July at 2pm and 7pm. Visit bit.ly/46qXwkK for more information.
