A NEW colour fun run fundraiser event is set to take place for the first time later this month.

Originally planned for late 2020, the Colour Frenzy will get going in Ballarat at Victoria Park on Sunday, 23 October.

Event organiser Clayton Bielby said the team are looking forward to bringing the run to the city.

“We’re very excited. We’ll have Bendigo the week before and Geelong the week after so it’s going to be a lot of fun for the area,” he said.

“We’re very family-focused. We’ll have a 1.5 kilometre track that people can take part in. They can do one, two, four laps. It’s all up to them.

“They can walk, jog, run, crawl, whatever they want to do. About 80 per cent of people walk in our events and they come out to have fun with family and friends.”

Mr Bielby said the team is hoping for about 1000 people to attend, with event offerings including five colour stations, two obstacle courses and a foam bubble station.

Funds from each Colour Frenzy event goes towards a local animal welfare organisation, with cash from the Ballarat debut to go towards the Chez Guy Small Animal Rescue.

Attendees are also invited to bring items like pet food and towels for donation.

Mr Bielby said the event will be fun for the whole family.

“People can really look forward to getting outside, having some fun in the sun, getting colourful,” he said.

“We’ve got many fun things on offer and our stations are for all ages. You don’t have to strictly be either an adult or kid. They’re designed for all capabilities.”

Ticket costs range from $5 for kids aged under five to $90 for families and can be purchased at the Colour Frenzy website.
