A NEW online directory has been launched by the City of Ballarat to provide up-to-date information about community organisations.

The Ballarat Community Directory allows individuals to discover organisations such as Scout groups, men’s sheds, Rotary clubs, or more specific groups like the Woodworkers Guild or Multiple Births Association.

The directory categorises organisations into groups such as community clubs and special interests, health services, disability services, sports, child services, and ageing services.

Community groups, organisations, not-for profit groups and essential service providers can list their information, volunteer opportunities and events for free.

“This one-stop-shop of community information and resources marks a significant milestone in our efforts to provide people with important local information, foster connections and strengthen the fabric of our community,” said then-City of Ballarat mayor Cr Des Hudson before the council went into caretaker mode on Tuesday.

“I encourage all organisations who offer a community service or activity, to register today.

“Together, we have created something that will serve as a powerful tool for connection, support and community-building.”

Organisations can update their information and events to ensure listings are accurate and links can be added to social media platforms and websites.

The directory can be found at mycommunitydirectory.com.au/Victoria/Ballarat.
