MEMBER for Ballarat Catherine King will recontest her seat at the upcoming 2025 Federal election and officially launched her campaign last week with a special guest in attendance.
Her government and Australian Labor Party colleague, the deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Defence, and Member for Corio Richard Marles visited Ballarat to show his support for Ms King, also the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.
“Catherine is a leader in our movement, our parliament and is the epitome of what it means to be an excellent parliamentarian, excellent politician and excellent minister,” Mr Marles said.
“We would not be the government we are today without Catherine King and I really, deeply mean that.”
Ms King has been the local member of Federal parliament since 2001 and said elections aren’t won and lost on the 33 days of a campaign.
“It’s about every day and I’m most proud of the service my team delivers to the community every day,” she said.
“We work hard to make sure people have a place to come that provides opportunity for advocacy for projects they want funded in the community, to helping with citizenship issues, to Centrelink issues, to NDIS issues, and passport issues.
“They’re the things that really matter to me.”
