Division of Ballarat boundaries declared

THE geographical boundaries for the Federal seat of Ballarat at the next election have been declared by the Australian Electoral Commission.

Last week, an AEC statement said the entirety of the Hepburn Shire will be located in the Division of Ballarat.

The Redistribution Committee for Victoria had proposed the northernmost part of Hepburn Shire, roughly between Mount Franklin and Kennedys Gully, be moved to be part of the Division of Bendigo, but this was not passed.

The AEC announced the official names and boundaries of all the electoral divisions in Victoria last week, ahead of the next Federal election which is set to take place in, or before, September next year.
