FEEDBACK is being sought by users and neighbours of the Walter Jones Memorial Park to determine how it should be fenced.

The green space on Napier and Havelock streets in Black Hill includes a playground and picnic seating.

The park currently has a metal and mesh fence on the sides facing the street, but it’s set to be replaced by the City of Ballarat, and users are being asked to share preferences on style.

Mayor Cr Des Hudson said the park is an important asset.

“We urge the community, if they use this local park, to complete the short survey to let us know how they use the space” he said.

“Community feedback will ensure we make the best decision for all users of the Walter Jones Memorial Park.”

The space is not an official dog park but is used by some residents as an off-lead dog space.

A statement from the municipality said the consultation will also determine whether mesh is or isn’t part of the new fence.

Feedback on the project can be submitted to the City’s My Say webpage and municipal staff will also run drop-in sessions at the park on Wednesday 28 June from 10am to 11am, or Friday 7 July from 4pm to 5pm.
