CARE and support services at Grampians Health Cancer Wellness Centre will be enhanced after a $10,000 donation from Camp 4 Cancer.

The donation reinforces Camp 4 Cancer’s commitment to funding research and helping to improve quality of life for patients and families affected by cancer.

Camp 4 Cancer president Mark McGrath said the group was proud to continue its support of theBallarat-based service.

“We started Camp 4 Cancer to raise money for cancer research, but as we’ve grown, we’ve recognised how important it is to also support the people living through cancer right now,” Mr McGrath said.

“The Cancer Wellness Centre offers the kind of compassionate, community-based care that aligns so strongly with our mission.

“Being able to donate another $10,000 this year is something our whole community of campers and volunteers can feel proud of.”

The Cancer Wellness Centre is based at the Ballarat Base Hospital and is supported by donations from the community.

The centre provides support for patients and their families, with counselling, support groups, exercise and wellness programs.

Wellness Centre manager Simone Noelker said the continued support from Camp 4 Cancer makes a tangible impact.

“Camp 4 Cancer’s generosity allows us to keep delivering the services that patients tell us matter most — the kind that help them feel seen and supported through every step of their journey,” she said.

“From emotional wellbeing to physical recovery, this donation will directly benefit people in our region who are going through one of the toughest experiences of their lives.”

The next major volunteer-led event for Camp 4 Cancer will be their 2025 Wallan Camp, running from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 November.

The weekend will include live bands, home-cooked food, camping, non-stop kids’ activities, raffles, auctions and a candle memorial ceremony.
