A FLIGHT of dragons have returned to Kryal Castle to share some fiery fun these school holidays.

Running until Sunday 6 October, dragons will be roaming the castle as knights battle for the Dragon Cup, and visitors can take part in warrior training or a dragon egg trail.

Phillip Leitch, experiences director at Kryal Castle, said this is a unique experience for visitors and families.

“There’s not many places we’re you’re going to get the chance to meet a dragon up close and personal and get to see their size and scale,” he said. “They’re a very interesting creature.”

This event has proved popular over previous years and Mr Leitch said visitors are fascinated by the beasts.

“Dragons are just one of those special creatures that have been amazing people for hundreds of years,” he said.

“They are amazing people now just as much as they were in the Middle Ages.”

Attendees will be able to learn about dragon breeds, and Mr Leitch likened the experience to an Australia Zoo for dragons.

“It’s almost an educational experience, as we have a variety of dragon breeds that we showcase,” he said.

“Families are able to meet the different clans and learn of their origins an eating habits.”

The event will also feature live performances, face painting, potion making, axe throwing, live Jousts, archery and more.
