Drinking tap installed at community garden
CENTRAL Highlands Water has installed a Choose Tap water fountain at the Ballarat Intercultural Garden.
The garden celebrates Ballarat’s diversity, is a place for people of all cultures to meet, and the new fountain will provide easy access to drinking water at the park.
“Central Highlands Water aims to embed broader community benefits in everything we do and by supporting our community through partnerships like this, our region’s health and wellbeing can benefit through initiatives like this new Choose Tap water fountain at the Ballarat Intercultural Garden,” Central Highlands Water managing director Jeff Haydon said.
“Through this installation, we are not only encouraging hydration, but collectively we can reduce single-use plastic waste by encouraging and promoting the benefits to Choose Tap.
“Together we can do this by refilling our reusable water bottles and embedding key actions to enhance and protect the environment.”
Ballarat Begonia Festival canvas painting education competition winner Sheer Art assisted with deciding on the location of the water fountain.
