Duel cause for theatre fundraiser
RECENTLY created LadderFrame Theatre Collective are kicking off the new year with a fundraising event.
The performance group’s operator Chiara Angeli said the team felt it was appropriate after the year that we’ve endured to not only raise funds for their operations but also another worthy cause.
“With the recent implementation of the Victorian government fire services reforms, Ballarat City has transitioned to an entirely volunteer based station… and need a new thermal imaging camera,” she said.
“LadderFrame is also seeking supportive collaborations and contributions to allow us to continue to provide employment and a platform for the creative and culturally diverse community of Ballarat.
“The ticket sales for the event and any other donations will be divided evenly between the two causes: the purchase of this
equipment for CFA volunteers and for future LadderFrame initiatives.”
In addition to the fundraising effort, Ms Angeli said the cast and crew have been working hard to put together their Summer Showcase for February.
“We are so proud and excited to be putting on this showcase as an opportunity both for the cast and crew involved,” she said.
“But it’s also an opportunity for the community of Ballarat to see and experience the professionalism, creativity and endurance that can arise from community theatre.
“It’s exciting to see people from all walks of life, friends and strangers alike get involved with such an ambitious project and putting all their different talents and experiences into this piece of theatre.”
LadderFrame’s Fire Relief Fundraiser Gig is set to be held at The Mallow Hotel on 16 January at 6pm.
Tickets for the fundraising event can be purchased either through the Facebook event, at ladderframetheatre.com or on the door.
