The Ballarat Ageing Well Expo, to be held Wednesday 26 March, will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn about aged care and explore services and supports available locally.
There will be more than 50 information stalls about health, aged care, social services, advocacy and support groups, equipment options and government services.
Guest speakers and industry experts will be available to answer questions.
“We are committed to creating an age-friendly community for our residents and this is just one of many ways in which we are delivering that,” mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said.
“It can be a daunting experience trying to navigate the ageing journey, so we are here to try and make it as easy as possible for people.
“Everybody who attends this expo will take something away of value.”
More than 30 per cent of Ballarat residents are aged 55 and over and the number is growing.
The free event will be held from 10am to 2pm at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre.
